NOC (NETWORK OPERATIONS CENTRE) ENGINEER
Based in Singapore

Job Descriptions:

  • Monitor the mobile/telecommunication platform, provide first level troubleshooting, escalate/follow up the incident until it is resolved.
  • Work in a 24 x 7 operations centre in support of mission-critical application.
  • Provide clear, timely, and informed status updates to customers on issues related to the monitored network.
  • Perform non-intrusive and intrusive physical & logical layer troubleshooting on service issues.
  • Perform customary ticket management functions to ensure proper organization of the NOC (Network Operation Centre) ticket queue.
  • Work effectively with internal and external organizations as necessary to expedite repair efforts.
  • Provide assistance to the Service Desk team for issues related to known outages.
  • Follow all new and existing NOC processes & standard operating procedures.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in network operations, infrastructure support, or 1st or 2nd line support experience.
  • Basic knowledge and usage of any Unix variant command line interface.
  • Basic knowledge and usage of Shell scripts and SQL commands.
  • Proficiency with NT/Windows basic commands and applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to interpret complex topics.
  • Willing to work 24/7 on rotating shifts including weekends and Public Holidays.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications, networking and Internet essentials would be an added advantage.


APPLICATION SUPPORT ENGINEER (JAVA / PL/SQL)

Job Descriptions:

  • Research into allocated issues at a much deeper level than basic resolution and providing detailed data on the issue and its resolution - to both customers and sales teams.
  • Participation in the creation and development of the service portal for self-help by customers and sales teams.
  • Document according to a pre-defined standard any technical resolutions that are recommended as being placed in the Service Desk Knowledge Base.
  • Monitor and address all escalations to internal support e-mail group with the aim of providing a consistent level of mentoring and resolution assistance to the team in Dublin.
  • Act as the main point of contact for the Service Desk during non European Hours for any high profile issues that are raised.
  • Identify and address any warm issues with the potential to turn into hot escalations with high visibility.
  • Action escalation requests according to time zone priority.
  • Use SLA timescales to assess overdue tickets and to work with the Dublin team to resolve or to resolve independently where urgency is needed.
  • Keep sales executives and customers up to date at all times for 'owned' tickets.

Requirements:

  • 3 - 4 years experience in application support.
  • Experience with UNIX/Linux command line interface.
  • Some knowledge in SQL server, Windows 2000 or UNIX Operating System.
  • Responsible, analytical with strong problem solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self motivated individual able to work independently.
  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering or any relevant disciplines.
  • Experience in supporting mobile messaging platform will be an added advantage.
  • Working knowledge of mobile devices and web protocols (SMPP, HTTP, etc) will be an added advantage.


NOC ENGINEER - 2 openings

DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR - 2 openings

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain database security and patches.
  • Monitor the system performance to ensure that the system has sufficient resources to continue to process production traffic.
  • Install databases and application packages.
  • Provide solutions for database issues including capacity, redundancy, replication, and performance.

Requirements:

  • 5 - 8 years of Oracle database administration experience.
  • Experience with Oracle 9i database technologies especially RAC, DataGuard, and advanced Replication.
  • Experience with PL/SQL development.
  • Knowledge of Oracle database architecture.
  • Experience in performance tuning.
  • Experience in supporting high-availability high transaction volume applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of UNIX OS.
  • Participation in a 24x7 DBA on-call rotation.
  • Experience in Sybase or SQL Server will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in SAN devices, including EMC and Hitachi will be an added advantage.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or an Engineering discipline.


SS7 SOFTWARE ARCHITECT

Minimum Requirements

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each of the listed essential duties satisfactorily.

  • SS7 expert (including TCAP, SCCP, MTP), greater than 10 years experience
  • Strong C skills, greater than 7 years experience
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP

Additional Requirements

  • Independent engineer who enjoys problem-solving and creating solutions
  • Communication with other departments, including Operations and Product Management
  • Technical leader, including design and code reviews
  • Able to mentor other less experienced engineers

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Software Engineering, or a Mathematics/Engineering discipline

Purpose of the Position

This person will lead all development on our SS7 application.

  • Software Architect on the SS7 platform
  • Perform design/code reviews for other Software Engineers on the platform
  • Design and code solutions for the platform
  • Assist with technical roadmap for the platform

SOFTWARE ENGINEER (DATABASE/UNIX)

As a member of the billing team, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Sybase 365 billing system.

Responsibilities:

  • Run the operations of the integrated billing system.
  • Liaise with global counterparts on delivered invoices.
  • Provide monthly country revenue reports.
  • Responsible for migration of legacy billing system customers.
  • Perform system and integration tests for delivered solutions.

Requirements:

  • 2 - 4 years working experience in IT operations team. Fresh graduates will be considered for Associate Billing Systems Engineer role.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle RDBMS and Unix (Sun Solaris).
  • Must be proactive, resourceful and self-motivated with strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent team player with strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Basic knowledge in any of the following: UNIX, PLSQL, C, C++, Pro C, Shell, Perl, Java, JavaScript, HTML, Windows 2000, XP, Oracle.

TEAM LEAD (C/C++/UNIX)

Job Descriptions:

  • Establishes project priorities and manages the activities of the engineers within the group, delivering each project within the established commitments, ensuring quality, performance and conformance with established specifications.
  • Establishes operational procedures and processes to deliver quality billing output on time.
  • Designs, integrates and implements complex software system components for new products or enhancing existing products.
  • Works independently and with a team requiring strong technical judgment to execute complex development assignments.
  • Determines approach, designs and implements for unit tests for product components. Designs conceptual approaches and does the necessary coding and debugging to implement them.
  • Highlights exceptions and risks to the plan, identifies actions being taken to address them. Achieves the committed results within the time frame, functionality, performance and quality standards established.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 -7 years experience in software development, of which minimum 2 years as a Team Lead.
  • Technically sound in Unix, Windows, RDBMS and object-oriented design (i.e. C/C++/Java);
  • Must have worked on the design and implementation of software products, ideally in a large team environment and on commercial products.
  • Proactive, resourceful and self-motivated with strong leadership and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent team player with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications billing system or BSS will be an added advantage.
